4-year-old Spokane Valley boy dies in toy box

SPOKANE, Wash. —
The Spokane County sheriff's office says the death of a 4-year-old boy at a Spokane Valley home was a tragic accident.

Sgt. Dave Reagan told The Spokesman-Review the boy apparently suffocated when he climbed into his toy box and the lid closed and latched.

The parents searched their Veradale home and neighborhood Tuesday before the father found his son curled up inside the toy box. Attempts to revive him failed.
