Gloomy Sunday, or "The Hungarian Suicide Song" or even "Suicide's Anthem" as some refer to this music, is a very sad music, that Rezso Seress composed, after his girlfriend left him. The dispair, hopelessness and sadness imbued in this song is what MAY have taken the people that comitted those suicides to use it as their last song, their last breath, their last cry.
The Gloomy Sunday we know today is based on the lyrics of Hungarian poet László Jávor.
