The husband of a 47-year-old woman who was found shot to death Saturday in her home near Lynnwood has been arrested in connection with her slaying, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

The 49-year-old man, who is not being named because he has not been charged, remains in a Seattle hospital, recovering from an injury or ailment that has not been specified by the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office said the man was found by Edmonds police and fire crews around 5:45 p.m. Friday "drifting in and out of consciousness" in the driver's seat of his vehicle, which was blocking the offramp at highways 104 and 99.

He was taken to a Seattle hospital. Police recovered a handgun from the car, according to a news release.

Later that night, the hospital asked that a deputy be sent over to the man's home in the 1700 block of 215th Street Southwest to contact the man's next of kin.

"The deputy knocked at the door, several windows, and on the side of the house but did not receive any response," wrote sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Kathi Lang.

The next day, co-workers of the dead woman — who was identified by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office as Cristy Ann Larsen — asked the Sheriff's Office to check on Larsen after she failed to show up for work. Deputies found Larsen's body. According to the medical examiner's office, Larsen died of multiple gun shot wounds and her death was ruled a homicide.
